CRYSTAL WAGNER

Crystal Wagner modtog sin MFA fra University of Tennessee i 2008, sin BFA fra Atlanta College of Art i 2004 og sin AFA fra Keystone College i 2002. Efter at have undervist som kunstprofessor på college i fem år forlod hun den akademiske verden for udelukkende at fokusere på sin kunstneriske praksis.

Wagners interesse for at kombinere 2-dimensionelle og 3-dimensionelle former, alternativ brug af materialer, hybride tilgange til printproduktion og massive stedspecifikke installationer har ført til, at hendes kunstværker er blevet udstillet i stor udstrækning i USA og i udlandet. Bemærkelsesværdige opgaver inkluderer en storstilet installation for det internationalt anerkendte band The Flaming Lips. en stor skyggeboks til GNU, et snowboardfirma fra Portland, OR, et storstilet installationsstykke til NIKE, præsenteret i Shrine Auditorium for The KOBE X Blackout Experience, og to installationer til Viacom, hvoraf den ene er et 117 fods værk i deres hovedkvarter på Times Square. Den blev vist af New York Times og blev udsendt på nationalt tv på VH1's Top 20 Countdown, USA's ambassade, og senest en storstilet installation for Warner Brothers, Grammy Museum, Los Angeles, CA.

I 2015 blev hun endvidere tildelt den meget eftertragtede Pollock-Krasner pris.
